Arteries are the blood vessels that transport oxygenated blood from the heart to the rest of the body. Sometimes our diet and lifestyle choices can cause our arteries to become clogged which increases the likelihood of a heart attack or stroke. This is a term that is referred to as atherosclerosis and it often goes unnoticed until symptoms such as chest pain start to arise. There are definitely some foods that many of us eat that can increase the likelihood of a blockage. With that said, there are also certain foods that work to cleanse the arteries so that blood can flow more freely.

One compound of this pepper that I want to point out is known as capsaicin. Researchers believe that it has vasodilator effects which can lower blood pressure levels. It is also believed to help reduce LDL cholesterol levels which is the bad type of cholesterol that is known for causing blockages in the arteries. This explains why cayenne pepper consumption is believed to reduce the risk of a heart attack or stroke.

We should try to avoid foods that are high in cholesterol because it combines with fat, calcium, and other substances in the blood to form plaque which can cause blockages in the arteries. Try to avoid foods that are high in saturated fat and trans fat because they are culprits when it comes to plaque buildup in the arteries as well. This can be unfortunate at times because many of the tasty foods that we enjoy contain these properties that are bad for the cardiovascular system.

The past year I have had bouts with severe chest pains. I have been to the ER 4 times and had ct scans, my blood test negative for the enzyme tjat indicates a heat attack, and ekg’s. I watch a video of Barbara O’Neill and she
Says to take 1/4-1/2 of cayenne in a glass of water. The pain goes away immediately. My BP is the same as it was when I was 18. I am 70 now. I make sure I do this regimen every day. Ialso take when I first arise I take 1 table spoon of ev olive ol, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice and 1/4-1/2 teaspoon of cayenne in a shot glass to fight fatty liver.

I started off slowly and gradually built up to about 20 shakes of cayenne pepper on my breakfast. I mix it into plain yoghurt and a tiny bit of honey. My high blood pressure has gone down to a normal range. I was sceptical but taking cayenne was the only change in my diet and lifestyle so it must be what reduced my blood pressure. I was determined I didn't want to go on medication for it.

I take a teaspoon every morning. My blood Dr just lowered my blood thinner from 20mg to 10mg. I go see him next year again. And we’ll see if I can get off of xeralto.

I haven't done it, just thought of it, but adding cayenne pepper to honey should be a good combo. Then use fresh lemon and that honey mixture with hot water to drink. Probably pretty fire.

@barbara, id like some advice please. my husband gets inflamed in the groin area after taking Cayenne. We take a tip of a teaspoon a day in water.
