About SIREN:
“Siren” takes us inside Bristol Cove—a coastal town known for its legend of once being home to mermaids. When the arrival of a mysterious girl proves this folklore all too true, the battle between man and sea takes a very vicious turn as these predatory beings return to reclaim their right to the ocean. The series stars Alex Roe (“The 5th Wave”) as Ben, a bright marine biologist who finds himself drawn to a mysterious new girl in town, Ryn, played by Eline Powell (“Game of Thrones”), who is a strange young woman with a deep dark secret. Fola Evans-Akingbola (“An American Exorcism”) stars as Maddie, also a marine biologist who works with Ben, and is highly suspicious of Ryn. Ian Verdun (“Life’s a Drag”) stars as Xander, a deep sea fisherman on a quest to uncover the truth; and Rena Owen (“Star Wars” Episodes II and III) as Helen, the town eccentric who seems to know more about the mermaids than she lets on. Based on a story by Eric Wald and Dean White who both serve as executive produces. Emily Whitesell (“Finding Carter”) is on board as Showrunner and Executive Producer. Brad Luff, Nate Hopper and RD Robb are also attached as executive producers.

Tia learned science, engineering, technology, human history and the alphabet, and also being with humans for 10 years helped her to learn things too. She is the most formidable mermaid in the whole series yet.

I actually like how she introduced herself, in the premiere I know she is dangerous, but she was a badass forcing the private jet to plummet into the water.

Great but sad backstory. I really did like her in episode 1. She was less aggressive to Ryn. Ever notice how Tiaa mannerisms right now are calm and she’s looking around not staring her down. Her eyes lowered or soften when they meet Ryns eyes. Especially when they first meet so fascinating watching two predators meeting and deciding whether the other is a threat or friend.

This backstory is actually sad, but I don’t know if it will excuse Tia’s actions. The fact that she named herself after a vengeful sea goddess isn’t too reassuring. She is one of the more dangerous merpeople we will encounter, though. I’m excited to see where this goes!

I love this show, because you never know who is gonna be a friend, foe, or ally. I. E. Donna, Katrina, Ian, Nicole, Xander, Calvin, the cult group, Ben's father....
