Great advice Evan. Right on target. I might add "warm market" networking into the mix, aka reaching out to friends and family, but even this is working towards getting that first "small job."
Thuan may even consider doing some pro-bono work (if getting that first customer proves difficult) because having a reference customer is immensely valuable, as you pointed out.
