What if Prussia Never Existed?

An alternate history scenario, asking what would happen if Prussia never existed? It is a continuation of my "what if the Ottomans were expelled from Europe early timeline.

I accidentally called the Battle of Vienna (1683) the Siege of Vienna (1529).

Did a lot of experimentation in this video, but it was a worthwhile project for me. I'd appreciate feedback on the mapping, video editing, thumbnail, voice etc. Also feel free to give ideas for future videos.

The Austrian Empire wouldnt exist with the Ottomans expelled from Europe. The only reason Austria inhereted Bohemia and Hungary was because their king, Louis II. Jagiellon, died in the Battle of Mohacs.

Did you know the Teutonic order could have been kicked out of Prussia by 1264 already? In the early 1260s there was a large uprising from the baltic prussian peoples, which nearly kicked the order out of prussia completely by 1263.

If Huguenots don’t leave France, could that mean the Industrial Revolution doesn’t take place in England?

A France that is a refuge place for protestants and bright reformers could take away the human capital escaped to Britain in our timeline.

1. Britain would have interfered with the french annexing major german land, since the resourceful territories held major strategic value and thus shift the power to france. Therefore France would remain similar.

2. Oversea territories are harder to maintain and northern germans shared a common hatred due to Swedish brutality, would make coalitions against the Swedish highly likely. Even Denmark 🇩🇰would gladly use the opportunity. No protestantism or ethnonationalism is gonna change that. To the east Sweden would experience Russian attempt to annex the baltic and Finland .

3. Austria could annex parts of Germany and the balkan, but that would lead to internal conflicts and thus their fall.

Love your videos! But as a Swede I have some few objections. The area of Norway (Aka trondelag) was only supposed to be under swedish control for a decade before being returned to Norway. It wasn´t a permanent province. Already by the great northern war it was back in Norway/Danish control.

Also once Sweden lost control over it´s Livonian holdings and no longer shared a border with Poland they would become natural allies against Russia. Possibly forming some dynastic ties as happened previous in history with Sigismund. Which will limit Russia's success as being a great power and help sweden regain some control over Estonia and Nöteborg/St petersburg. While poland would get Goldingen and maybe Riga. So I do think you should retcon some of the Russian stuff, at least surrounding the Baltic region.

Otherwise I love this scenario.

Ok after actually finishing the video i can confirm my previouse comment, it's great.
My sole gripe is that Sweden being able to hold such a vast portion of germany due to "shared german heratige and shared faith" seems a bit optimistic. Id assume it would create some sort of nationalistic wave leading to some tiny pan german state. (NOTE IM SLEEP DEPRIVED SO IGNORE THIS IF IT MAKES NO SENSE)

Sorry I have to disagree here big time, the HRE would not go like this. I do think it would go but it mostly go by Austria swallowing all of it because they was already the HRE emperor. With the weak north and them getting that Crown they would push to strengthen their German calms and us this to weaken the places in their empire.

What if China permanently collapsed during the Three Kingdoms Period and never reunited? I wonder what effects it would have throughout Asia and Europe? Glad you're back, I just found out I was unsubscribed for some reason.

Good video, though I think you overlooked something. Without Prussia to balance the power of Europe, the British would have to be involved more in central Europe. In this timeline, instead of leaving Hanover happily, Britain would try their best keeping Hanover from falling into other powers of Europe, thus making Hanover and the British reign more aligned and Hanover more liberal, since they knew they would be eaten alive after being left by the British, so they had to accept some reforms from Britain. Instead of France being antagonized because of the revolution or Napoleon, it would be Britain due to the slowly, but progressive liberal reforms that went against the other Monarchs. Though unlike France, it wouldn't create wars, as Britain didn't like "French style" revolution and destroying the balance of power, so there wouldn't be a "1 vs everyone from Europe" for the British.
Russia wouldn't be feared and respected much in this timeline compared to the original timeline, maybe they didn't even considered by some to be European. With Poland standing right before Russia, they might focus more in the far East and centrl Asian. Less fighting against Russia actually make the Ottoman empire having a better time to live without the "Othodox protector" from Russia to their holding in the Balkan, while Austria was too busy in central Europe.
