This will be the preeminent HSR line in all of the Western hemisphere. Total game changer.

I kind of think of it in terms I can relate too, though this project is much is more complex than biochemistry lab. We did the best we were capable of, spent long hours learning and applying new techniques and procedures. In the end, 10 weeks were gone and we has done the best job that has ever been done. High Speed Rail will take a long time. I can't imagine the challenges the workers face, but keep on chugging, doing your best - it is so worth doing. I grew up in Merced and want to blast through the Tule fog at insane speeds on my way to Bakersfield..

There are many reasons why this project is facing a lot of problems. One of them is that America doesn't consistently build High-Speed Rail trains. The other reason is that a lot of Americans just don't understand trains and this leads to transit projects not getting funded, like California High Speed Rail. Alan Fisher does a really good job explaining why

The project had a completion date of 2020 when we voted for it in 2008. What happened? CA at it's best.

I love high speed rail, and most passenger trains, but this is such a badly mismanaged project. Massively over budget, a decade behind schedule, and a service that will go from nowhere to nowhere when the initial service starts.
