If you're going to buy a tractor, you should SERIOUSLY consider a tractor with an enclosed cab. One of the top regrets I hear from Tractor buyers is that they didn't buy a tractor with a cab, and they wish that they did.

Why?

I'll tell you 5 reasons why a cab tractor is better than an open station.
I'll also gin-up 5 reasons that an open station might be preferable.

If you are thinking about buying a tractor from John Deere, Kubota, Kioti, LS, Mahindra, Yanmar, New Holland, Bad Boy, Massey Ferguson, or WHOEVER, this might be some information that you'll find beneficial.

Check out my Amazon store. You might find some cool stuff!

The # 1 reason is Productivity. If you’re on a tractor a lot you get a lot more done when you don’t have to tolerate the environment

I have a 2019 Boomer 40 w/a cab. Wouldn't get another tractor without a cab! When I want fresh air I open the two side windows and the back window and sometimes leave the doors open. If I really want fresh air, I'll open all the windows and remove the doors. Not hard to do just takes some time. We live at the base of the Rocky Mountains. I find I like the cab better in the winter more the summer, although when mowing / brush hogging a cab with AC is so nice!! I can open my back window and release the latch on the quick hitch. My cab is quiet enought that I can listen to music, podcasts, news, sports, make a phone call etc in my cab.

The only thing I miss with an open station is a sun tan. Before I got my cab model I used to get a nice tan, not leathery tan but nice color. Maybe the solution is to buy a boat and spend some time on the lake. lol

My small tractor is open station and my large tractor has a cab. Another couple of open station pluses is visibility and you can usually lower part of the ROPS to get under low objects like low branches and garage doors. For snow I tell everyone who asks GET THE CAB!

I feel like in a Mad Max only with tractors style post apocalypse the open cab would be better for throwing explosive spears off of and shredding sick metal riffs but the closed cab would protect you better from Molotov cocktails and crossbow bolts

Had an open and at the age of 78 bought the cab. How much healthier it is. This past winter we had two weeks of below zero weather with snow. Start it up and let it warm up and enjoy moving snow in your shirt sleeves. No snow blowing in your face. Last summer 95 degrees and brush cutting. Nice and cool, no dust, no bugs and sun protectioni. Cab is the only way to fly. And on the LS it was only $6, 000 more than the open as compared to the Kubota and Deere which were closer to $11, 000 more.

I asked some questions in the past because I was figuring out what to buy. I just bought a LS MT357 cab tractor. Soon as the backhoe comes in, I can pick up the tractor. They are adding the front 3rd function for a grapple. I am so excited to get it and use it. I wanted to thank you for your videos and help!

I just bought a Mahindra 1640 hst cab model. Got a backhoe, box blade, 9” auger, forks and grapple with third function and I’m on 8 acres of improved land. Very little of it is unimproved (where a cab may be a liability) but I will say this, I was grading about a 50 yard area the other day an unearthed 2-3 yellow jacket nests and at first I panicked. Then just laughed and turned the radio and AC up lol

Another pro to an open station is if you're doing tasks where you're on and off the tractor a lot, you don't need to deal with the door, because cab tractors aren't intended to be operated with the door open.

Hey Micah, I have been following you for quite a while. I am wondering if you can give me some feedback on a specific issue.. hopefully it's not too much to ask. I had a Kioti DK40 for 10 years, and 2 years ago switched to LS, and now have an MT3-57HC. I love the cab, I could never go back to open station. lol. Anyways, so far the LS has been awesome. I run a sawmill and work it pretty hard. No complaints. The only small issue I have noticed, is that compared to the Kioti, whenever I have a heavy load on the forks, the loader seems to flex from side to side more than the kioti loader did. With that being said, it has not caused any problems as of yet. The loader is strong and works great, (I max it out often). But maybe when you get the chance, since you are obviously around the Kioti and LS tractors on the same lot, maybe you can do a comparison? In other words, put the same amount of weight on a Kioti loader and drive forward and steer side to seed and watch the loader flex, then do the same with a comparable LS machine, and see if there is a major difference? Thanks and I appreciate any feedback you have on this.
