Fix Laggy or Stuttering Discord Stream - Stream Lag

In this video I show you how to fix a laggy or stuttering Discord stream. There are several solutions if you have Discord stream lag, one of which is to run Discord as an administrator. This will ensure that Discord is receiving priority when streaming to prevent any stuttering for your viewers.

Another way to fix stream lag in Discord is to turn off the H264 video codec option in the voice & video settings. In some cases, this will solve the issue. If it does then you can try enabling H264 again and only turn off the hardware acceleration video codec option.

Closing other applications that you aren't using can also help fix a laggy Discord stream. With less applications open your computer will have more resources to allocate to your Discord stream.

A quick fix for Discord stream lag is to close your own stream preview. Ideally, you will not want to watch your own stream while streaming to others. If you have your own stream open on another monitor, or have it playing in a popout window then be sure to close or stop the stream playback.

People with Discord Nitro can also try to stream with 720 resolution at 30 FPS. This will lower the quality of the stream, making it easier for your computer to process and stream. If you have a slow internet connection then this can also help fix any Discord stream lag.

If your Discord stream is laggy or stuttering because of a network issue then you can try flushing your DNS and performing a Winsock reset. Once done you will need to restart your PC.

Another fix for a laggy Discord stream is to change your graphics settings on your PC. Some users will experience better performance with the reduce latency and improve performance option enabled. Whereas others will have less stuttering when streaming on Discord with the option turned off.

60fps was the culprit for me 🤝. Changed it to 30 and its smooth as butter even at 1440p 🥵. Hopefully one day tho discord will be good enough to optimize 60fps streaming
