Tomahawk Power asked me to try their new battery powered screed and give all of you my opinion.
This was the first concrete floor we used the Tomahawk screed on, a 32' x 28' basement floor.
The battery screed is built very heavy duty in my opinion. It should last a very long time and I feel it could be used for commercial floors as well.
It's about 10 lbs heavier than some of the other battery screeds I've used. For small floors like this one, the extra weight isn't a problem and I don't think it would be a problem for any residential floor. On bigger commercial floors the extra weight could be something to consider. The head unit weighs about 40 lbs and the 14' blade weighs about 10 - 15 lbs.
The battery seems powerful and capable of lasting a very long time.
I feel the handles could use an adjustment to lower them more so the operator can straighten his/her arms more as they operate the screed. If your arms are bent, holding the screed at the proper level, and pulling backwards, they tend to get fatigued a little quicker.
Overall, the screed worked really well and I think it would make a very good investment if you do a lot of concrete flatwork like we do.
I'll continue to use it and keep you updated on my opinion and how it screeds concrete for us.

The well drillers usually drill uphill from the job, leaving a mess on the job lol

Hey Mike I got a tomahawk gas powered and I use a 14 foot board it flexes from weight of power unit and I'm getting dips in middle of board you can't tell it till it rains I was going to buy the mbw looks like its got a lot more rigged board than the L shape that tomahawk uses let me know your opinion on this and would you prefer gas or battery power

What function do those tubes serve that are filled with concrete?

Over all length of the handles didn't seem right? They should be able to telescope up an down, not all people are the same height? Just being able to adjust the grips isn't good? Good Job guys.
