Roman Catholicism does not exactly disagree with the teaching of uncreated energies. Rather, we do not see a distinction between God’s essence and His energies, since God is one. Even so, you are right that rigidity is a poor idea. I think the disagreement stems from different ways of thinking and speaking about God.

A wonderful meditation, though. I think it’s important to remember that we are called to bear our cross, not another’s.

I appreciate your videos Father Spyridon, they have meant so much to my wife and I. A few of them have contained concepts alien to me. This is not surprising as I am a product of a different mental construct and perspective. This video is rather dense and meandering, if I tried to use it to come to a saving knowledge of our Lord Jesus I'm not sure it would help me accomplish that. When you left the Anglican church were you saved and was your baptism valid? Did you come to Orthodoxy doubting your salvation and requiring a new baptism? What to me was an easy-to-understand concept (salvation) has become confused for me here. I'm not posting here to be provocative, this is the single most important subject in all of life. Using your teaching here I have no confidence I would be able to understand what to do, let alone use it to lead another to Christ. I mean no disrespect, I'm honestly confused by this.

Father Spyridon I as a man of Christ love your videos and I've learned so much. You truly are a man of faith in the Holy Lamb of God. But, as a Lutheran, I could not help but disagree with what you mentioned on Protestants and their belief in "created grace". Yes, I agree that Catholics believe in works gaining grace, but it was that reason the Reformation happened. Protestantism is founded upon the truth of by grace that we are saved, and also that we take up our crosses and folliw Christ.

BTW I'm not criticizing. I applaud the Orthodoxy for its faithfulness throughout history and I hope God blesses you and your congregation. Amen.
