#9 Alex Skolnick

: Practice what you Preach

:The New Order

:Titans of Creation

Solo ( Trial by Fire) or (perilous nation)... A really well crafted solo that incorporates some alternate picking with legato and his phrasing, Just so well placed. I've always loved how his solos leave you guessing what his next idea will be. Also the way they are constructed as mini guitar sonatas.Truly one of the Greats.

Also one Hell of  a Jazz player with his trio.

Mixing elements of Swing, hard bop, world music and fusion. Uber talented craftsman!

Rik Emmett -
'Allied forces'
'Never surrender'
'Progressions of power'
Performance - 'magic power'
Excellent example of his mix of acoustic & electric.

Only saw Rik play once, but whata show. Day on the green July 30th '83. A rare none headlining gig for Triumph. The order of bands that day - Night Ranger, Bryan Adams, Eddie Money, Triumph, and Journey. It was at the Oakland Alameda County coliseum stadium.

9. Richie Blackmore

I don’t think I need to say a lot about this guy on SoT. I got to see him in Mark lll Deep Purple and in Rainbow.

Albums: Machine Head, In Rock & Fireball.
Song: “Smoke on the Water” (I Know it’s obvious…but that signature riff !!)
Other tunes that I like: “Speed King”, “Bloodsucker”, “Lazy”, “No No No”, “Place in Line”, Woman From Tokyo”, “Child in Time”, & “Hush”

During Covid back in 2020, Richie and Candice Night did a couple of videos from home on YouTube that really had a positive effect on me at the time. I felt that I got to know him just a bit better. She was pretty cool too. She sang and he played acoustic guitar. It was beautiful !!🎸

Gary Moore - "Still in Love with You" (Thin Lizzy - Nightlife)
Black Rose: A Rock Legend (Thin Lizzy), Corridors of Power, We Want Moore!

DAY 9-GARY MOORE- Irish guitarist sensation of early band named Skid Row in the early 70s. and very accomplished guitarist with his electric fiery of playing that develop even more as not by design. As a bar fight with bottle to face and hiding scars an becoming shy but had married with kids and he put his thoughts and everything in his music and what he would come up with, and from his part in Thin Lizzy briefly and becoming a solo artist and doing sone collaborations with others too. He pleased fans with his music and knows he was well loved, But had trouble overcoming drinking and we had lost him in 2011 at age 58, RIP The great albums though he left us with a load of great albums And along the lines of blues in later days then his great heavy rocking metal days, The 3 ALBUMS well go with Victims of The Future and with Dirty Fingers and Run For Cover, have the vinyls. Btw saw Gary Moore in Thin Lizzy In 1979 as they opened for Nazareth. Great show!!! HM songs of Empty Rooms Run For Cover title or anything with Glenn Hughes he had on vocals and Military Man with Phil Lynott of Thin Lizzy on Run For Cover album and Murder In The Skies on Victims as well as Shapes of Things cover and Victims of The Future title track. Hiroshima. Nuclear Attack, Really Gonna Rock Tonight, Lonely Nights on Dirty Fingers, The whole albums is great, HM quick too of tite track Still I Have The blues and good lp.

My song or songs though for this exercise a tie on one album of WE WANT MOORE.LIVE with personel of group with him on here Neil Carter – keyboards, rhythm guitar, backing vocals, lead vocals on 2, harmony vocals on 9
Craig Gruber – bass, backing vocals
Phil Lynott – bass and lead vocals on track 11
Ian Paice – drums and percussion on tracks 4-8, 10
Bobby Chouinard – drums on tracks 1-3, 9
Paul Thompson - drums on track 11
Jimmy Nail – backing vocals on track 10.

THE tracks I take as tie with SHAPES OF THINGS on WE WANT MOORE that is the magnificient version that is his powerful shredding that is out of this stratosphere. Away from Beck he proceeds Gary does with such grace and licking runs that just melt and the tapping and all of that, Then the other track go with VICTIMS OF THE FUTURE title track and on WE WANT MOORE he just rips along so kicking and shredding and bombastic heavy greatness. Vocally taking you along as well on these tracks. And the whole album is classic winner all the way through and a wonderful one from this man. As he plays the guitar and just cries out with such emotions. And the crowd loving it!!! Now I don't know if any tweak or dub with the audiences of on it but a great full album with this much excitement he and his band deserve it all the praise and crowds it has.

And so there you have it Gary Moore and thanks for the memories. There you are. Take care and have a good day and Be well and prayers to all in need. Friends enjoy and remember Gary Moore. Hugs and Love to you all today. I hope to make along today too. Pete I to make reply to my post so it can be seen and noting what you chose my friend and our great presenter each and every day thank you. TC all. 🎶🎶🎸🤗🙏☮
