One time, I was at work and this cop came in and started interrogating me. WHILE I WAS AT WORK!. I told him I didn't have to answer his questions and that I wanted to see my lawyer.
I immediately got out of there and told my manager. My manager went out to see what was going on. Apparently, I don't get to plead the fifth when the cops ask what our soup of the day is and whether we have Coke or Pepsi.

The cop who arrested me was telling the DA a bunch of bad shit about my charge making it seem a lot worse than it actually is, while I was sitting right there in eye sight of him and he pointed at me n smiled 😢

My late dad was an attorney. He said you don't have to tell them anything. Just keep your mouth shut and I'll be on my way shortly. He also said if they say these words..."Try to help yourself out and speak"... Dad said that's a complete trap. Always remember we have the right to remain silent. The cops are there to jam you up not help you. Luckily I have never been downtown for questioning. Nor do I have to speak to the heat on the outside either. I don't help the cops do anything.

Also make sure that the phone line is confidential when speaking to a lawyer by phone or any other person by phone in the police precinct. Almost all of their phone lines are tapped, and whatever they’ll record in this conversation will be used against you.
