I had a local cop come to my house looking for my brother in law, who had a warrant for a speeding ticket. First time he asked if he lived at my address. I told him he did not. He gave me the obstructing justice talk and asked me again and I again said no he didn't live here. The second time, about 6 months later the same cop drove up the driveway and asked if my brother in law was here. I told him no. He started his obstruction thing but I stopped him with, " I know. You told me that last time.' Later that year he came back but he had a rookie side kick with him. He asked me if my brother in law was here. I said no he isn't. Before he could start the obstructions spiel the rookie asked me if I knew where he was. I answered, ' Sure. He moved from here almost 2 years ago. About 3 months after that he passed away. I can give you directions to his grave if you'd like." The other cop was about to open his mouth and I stopped him with, " You never asked me if I knew where he was."

As a retired cop (30 yrs., ret. in ‘97) I was taught to touch the trunk of a car I stopped to ensure it was closed & latched, making sure no one was hiding inside to ambush me from behind (it was a thing back then). Never heard the reason was to startle the driver so I’m going to call BS on that. We want the driver as relaxed as possible b/c there will be fewer problems that way. I’ve been stopped since retiring and the officer did not tap my car when she came up to the window.

So, if you ask a police officer: "Is it true that you are legally allowed to lie?" He can say "No."

The phrases "Sir, I do not answer questions" and "Sir, I do not consent to any searches" are your best friends.
Also, _always_ film the police at every interaction with them. Video is an unbiased witness that will never lie.

Those trackers are supposed to be only used during police chases so they can back off and make them think the police gave up so they stop driving so reckless and saving them from crashing and injuring or killing someone in areas that are highly populated or in a neighborhood

The #1 reason that i have NEVER, nor EVER, trusted ANY Cop, no matter how "nice" they are, is because they are Legally allowed to lie to me in order to gain information, and not be charged, whereas, if i do the same i can be charged, if you expect me to Trust somebody that is Allowed to lie to me, ypu are out of your Friggin' mind.

I've never ever heard of a cop tapping a car to startle the driver? I have heard that they do it to leave their fingerprints and to make sure the trunk is shut.

Because cops typically have confiscated drugs in their patrol cars, which they have handled before stopping you, their hand prints always leave traces of illegal drugs on your car. They always touch the back of your car to intentionally transfer drug traces to your vehicle, which will cause a drug dog to alert, giving cops a claimed justification to search your car without a search warrant or legitimate reasonable suspicion, and in many areas the cops then plant drugs while in your car during these illegal searches to further justify their actions, which they then lie about to you and to the Court and jury, and falsely claim those drugs are yours. You've been warned.

I remember a police officer told my brother that he had him on CCTV shoplifting in Tesco the previous night which was completely false i know because he was with me and my parents in Reading that night.

I play secret tricks on the police all the time. I don't speed, i keep my registration current. I have insurance. I have a current drivers license. I don't have drugs or alcohol in the car. I don't fight with the police. I don't get shot, because they don't even know i exist. 🤣🤣 Go figure!

Actually the second reason why cops touch the back is to make sure the trunk is closed just in case someone is in there to try to cause harm to the office
