Everyone fails to FST. If a cop thinks you are DUI, even if every step is done perfectly they will still arrest you

Our local sheriffs department conducted a test. They had ten officers on duty tested for the absence of alcohol in their systems and then asked to perform standard field sobriety tests. Three of them passed. The test is designed to fail. It is so cops can reasonably articulate suspicion to further test.

Nothing about this video demonstrates, in any way, that Shields had anything to drink. Someone speaking that articulately is likely sober. Officers lie all the time about smelling alcohol.
As a cop, he should know never to agree to any tests, especially field sobriety outside the car and to stop talking.
Yes, he shouldn't flash his badge to get privileges.

Imagine being a police officer and not being smart enough to refuse field sobriety tests..

Never take a breathalyzer test no matter if you’re sober or not. I had a friend get arrested for a cop saying he blew over the limit and it showed he blew over but my friend didn’t have anything to drink. he doesn’t even drink and never has. They lie sometimes and or their equipments faulty not worth taking a test and risking it. My friend had to spend thousands of dollars on a lawyer fighting this thing he ended up winning but he spent over 7k having to prove that he hadn’t had anything to drink. What ended up saving him was his lawyer got the videotape of him being questioned at the police station and the judge watched it and the judge could tell that he was sober in the video he wasn’t slurring his speech his eyes were perfectly focused and his movements were completely normal.
