this channel is so wildly inconsistent, every new video is like opening a mysterious dark package someone left on your front yard. it’s not just that, because sometimes you expect a new conspiracy theory video or something, then you get the full political spectrum. it’s like if the package was shaped like a bicycle but when you unwrap, there’s a ham and cheese sandwich within. I love it.

I’m a bigger fan of the Stellaris’s compass, a four dimensional model, with Authority vs Liberty, Materialism vs Spiritualism, Xenophobia vs Xenophilia, and Martialism vs Pacifism.

With four dimensions instead of two, it’s possible to explain why two ideologies are at the exact same spot on the two dimensional model, since they are still at different locations on the 4 dimensional model.

I've listened to this video about 4 times already and never fully paid attention, but that's because your voice is so nice it's amazing background noise while I work. You laugh and make jokes but never scream or do drastic music jumps, and it makes it super easy to let this kind of genuinely interesting info flow in my background. 4:19 THANK YOU FOR MENTIONING THIS. People never think about the fact that politics shifts and what is considered “right” and “left” or Up vs down in one country or time period can be drastically different when in comparison to other time periods or country’s.

Like it amazed me when I learned that “liberal” the way most mainstream media and society views it in the US as left wing. When in reality liberalism is so much more complicated than that especially when you compare American liberalism to classic liberalism and others.

THIS IS SO CRAZY I LOVE LEARNING.
Basically I have a bunch of mental health issues, and living in the rural Midwest that is very stigmatized/repressed so my family shares those ideals. My parents adapted to my needs and grew with me, but mY SISTER ON THE OTHER HAND-
She was going on saying shit that I now know was social Darwinism, which is absolutely insane. Like legitimately she told me that I should be dead because of my clinical depression. I don’t know if she’s changed her viewpoints, but it is absolutely bonkers that she has/had that alignment.
