Comparing Fiber Strain Sensors and Foil Strain Gages on a Cantilever Beam

A small cantilevered beam demonstration shows strain correlation between a tradition foil gage to a fiber optic sensor. Excellent correlation is shown between the two foil gages and the fiber, however the fiber is able to show the full strain profile of the beam.
