Title: Distributed Fiber Sensors Based on Brillouin Dynamic Gratings

Author: Kwang Yong Song

Affiliation: Chung-Ang University, Korea, South

Abstract: High-sensitivity distributed temperature and strain sensors based on Brillouin dynamic grating (BDG) are demonstrated with various configurations of optical time (or correlation) domain analysis (or reflectometry) in polarization-maintaining fibers and two- / few-mode fibers. The sensitivities to temperature and strain variations are several tens of times larger than those of ordinary Brillouin sensors.
