There's some unused sprites for another human in Undertale that doesn't look like Frisk or Chara, so who is it? Is it a beta version of one of them, or is it Kris?

There’s reason to believe this was probably an early version of Frisk, since the sprite has a full walking animation and everything, along with Frisk and Kris being somewhat anagrams of each other leading the the possibility that Frisk might’ve been created first and kris was built around the beta design, but who knows. I mean how the hell do you come up with the name “Frisk”

It's definitely an early design for either Kris or Chara

These sprites are referred to as "Chara" internally, with Frisk/Kris being MainChara and Chara being TrueChara.

Also, we do see this design used. In the intro and Asriel flashbacks, Chara doesn't use their final design; Their hair always covers their eyes, like this sprite and Kris, and they have a different outfit, most noticeable by the colors being lighter than Asriel's, while their final palette is darker.



I'd say it was probably Chara originally, but this design was later reworked into Kris while making Deltarune, since Kris and Chara are so similar.

People, it's not your reflection in waterfall. You can search for any genocide/soulless pacifist playthrough and see it's not there(not counting debug mode)

It may have been an earlier design for Chara or Frisk, but then ended up being the inspiration for Kris’ sprites.

In think it's an old chara's design because the obscured eyes are in the pictures of chara with asriel

Either this is what Frisk should've looked like, or it was Chara when they fell in the underground

I could’ve sworn I saw it in the reflections in puddles in Waterfall instead of Frisk’s reflection

In developer mode if you press space, and then look into the puddle there gonna be that sprite

With the darker skin, and the green and yellow striped shirt, I think it is Kris. Honestly, I don’t know what you don’t see lol

It is in the game, during waterfall there is a puddle and if you click space while on it, your reflection turns into it

This is not a unused frisk sprite for sure because frisk was one of the first sprites created for this game, toby shared it in an old earthbound forum

If you walk up to the waterfall puddles and click the spacebar
This appears as frisk s reflection
