Sometimes wonderful things happen by chance. A couple of years ago my instrument broke while in Switzerland, and I took it on the spur of the moment to its maker in Milan, Pierre Bohr. Pierre took me to a great party in a squat on the edge of Milan where I played my arrangement of a Metallica song and met Alex. Alex is a fashion photographer and kindly suggested we have a little photoshoot the next morning before I flew out of Milan. I'm really grateful for his time and energy. The result is supercool!

There are covers of Metallica on bowed strings that just technically hit the right notes... and then there's this guy bringing all the powerhouse musicality and intonation of the original to a hidden historical gem of an instrument. Best cover of One I've heard in many, many years!

The bravura of Forqueray, the delicacy of Marais, the melancholy of Sainte-Colombe and the brilliance of Abel all of them combined in one performing. It couldn't be much better than this. And the best part of this is that Robert Smith has featured with Pandolfo. Take that! Congrats Robert! By the way, I love your vibrato and arpeggio skills.
