Tip #5 I'm so bad at. I hardly ever use those shortcuts! It's something I really should get better at.

I was frustrated with the Cyberlink tutorials that spent more time on trying to look slick than really teaching a newbie how to start learning the tool. You slammed it! I'm going to watch your tutorials and practice, practice, practice.

Some good advice, wish I knew 2yrs ago. I learnt the the hard way and lost 4hrs of work when PD bombed out . Now I regularly create backup versions along the way

Thanks for these simple but powerful tips. I'd been making videos for more than a year now and look back at all the energy and time I could have saved by using shortcuts and not getting bogged down with crashes from using enhancements too early.

I have been dealing with #1 myself. Realizing that I should get my roll laid down before I try to add layering, effects, extra sound etc. Thank You.

I have used PD for years, but earlier this year an update caused PD and CD to stop working together. Tech support was unable to solve the problem and ultimately I switched to DaVinci Resolve 17 Studio. That being said, I have learned so much from you and feel that you are such a good person, I didn't want to unsubscribe. I have kept watching and realize that many of the things you teach... this video being an excellent example....can be used no matter which software the viewer is using. Thanks for all that you do!

I have learned the hard way about organising my files and folders. The new folders feature, in PD 365, is a real time saver. I also gather all of my media into a project file before I start and keep copies of this, on other hard disks.
My work flow still needs to be tuned and tweaked.
Thanks for another great video. I will certainly be checking the links.

Thanks for a nice summary of good practices, ‘Video Dude’ Maliek! My main takeaway is to start saving versions, especially for larger projects. As always, thanks for all you do! 👏👏👏

Great tips. I do vacation/family events type videos to share. Totally agree on organizing and seeing what you have to work. My biggest issue has been not enough content. Cut video off too early. I keep thinking of what the end length will need to be that I "pre-edit" myself. I've got to get comfortable with letting the recording continue and let my editting skills take care of it when I get on the PC.

Dude... I've been editing on nonlinear systems since the 1990's and am still guilty of not doing some of these things. Thanks for this video.
