My parents immigrated here legally and took them over 15 years of saving to buy their first home. That's the American dream, not a handout to illegals or anyone.

I’m a veteran. There are policies that must be followed. It’s hard enough for many of us who folllow the rules. No special treated for ANYONE!

SEN. SCOTT WEINER AND ASSEMBLY MAN DR.JOAQUIN ARABULA SHOULD BE VOTED OUT OF THEIR POSITION. It took legal citizens 10, 15 to 20 years to save up to buy a house in California. Enough is enough.

Best thing Newsome did because all Californians are so upset about it. People that are legally here are not getting help why should people here illegally get our tax dollars.

It’s not fair for anyone that came to this country illegally to receive anything but a trip back home after prison.

Newsom did something right for once. “It’s harder to get loans than someone with a social” - Realtor. SHE NEEDS TO BE FIRED. How do you get loans without a social security number?

Sane countries do not allow foreigners to own land and homes. That is a law we could all get behind.

In high demand areas, like SF metro and LA metro, there is already a housing crisis. And many Americans across the country can't afford a house without help from their parents or got lucky. Why should undocumented immigrants get money for housing when Americans are struggling? We should use those funds to increase the money to give Americans to buy homes.

Damn right, our own Americans are living on the sidewalk.

Newsom vetoed it because it shall potentially give Trump talking points in the upcoming debate.

As a green card holder ( since 1990) I approve of this I am against illegals. It is very unfair towards people who respect the law. I had to go thru a lot of hoops to get my green card.

Good. Stop incentivizing law breaking.

I do appreciate the migrants hard work in California but its hard for most Americans to buy their first home and this Government program should only be available for American citizens. Undocumented immigrants should be able to buy a home in California since it is a Sanctuary state (at present) but taking funds away from American citizens would be wrong. As the law stands now, Undocumented immigrants will never be American citizens

This is the only best decision he had ever made in his career.
