What super power would you want to be born with?

"Why we don't have Spidey-Sense?"

Oh yes we do, we called it anxiety.

Yes, because if Spider-Man is known for one thing; it's his thriving social life.

*Shower Thoughts:* If a spider bite can turn you into a Spider-Man, is this means that stepping on a LEGO can turn you into a minifigure?

I once built a super hero team with powers based off real science. The spiderman character's power was his eyes sensory system was on the front of his brain instead of the back, so his reaction time was unworldly. He basicially lived in the future as he could see things happen a few milli seconds before anyone else could.

Hey there Wisecrack, just wanted to come to your most recent video to let you know that all of you at the Wisecrack team are appreciated. I mean I’ve never found a channel on the tube quite like this one. Keep up the dedication to your work. Ps. I’d like to recommend a deep or dumb review on Requiem for a dream and American History X, thanks! 🙏

So this is why in Ang Lee's Hulk Bruce gets his power mojo from his Dad while his Dad remained unchanged. Perhaps Ebert was right about that movie

3:51 FYI microwaves use light in the microwave range, which means you have higher chance of getting mutations from regular light in the visible spectrum

Aside from the parts where this video made my social anxiety worse, it was mildly amusing.

I appreciate the surprise explanation on how AAV gene therapy works(just replace "gain spider powers" with "cure genetic disorders"). I work with and study AAVs at my job so now I can send this video to people to explain what kinds of drugs I develope. One caveat to add though. AAVs used today don't integrate the new gene into the patient's DNA. It stays separate from the main genome and just expresses itself. Therefore if the cell divides only one cell will have the new gene and other won't. If the cell dies, the new gene is lost. This is why all approved AAV gene therapy drugs deliver genes to cell that don't divide like eye and nerve cells. Therefore, if you used AAVs to transduce your skins cells it won't last long.

Microwaves don’t create ionizing radiation, if you were actually able to put a body part in their it wouldn’t have enough energy to break apart the hydrogen bonds in your DNA changing it but it would probably get that body part pretty hot.

i suspect we're not just talking about spiderman so, which friends ignored you?

If Spiderman were anything like that I could see why J.J.J. would label him a menace. In any case I'm holding out hope for gene editing to answer the question we're all really asking; how do I shot web?

Spider Hair isn't how Spider Sense works, lol.

6:25 At this point we are probably more likely to get spider covid than actually get rid of covid

So in other words "The Boys" is the most accurate super hero show/movie scientifically?

So, you're telling me I need to build a time machine and get a radioactive spider with a virus to infect my mom after my conception?? Challenge Accepted

I thought about this 10 years ago as a nerdy high schooler and came to the same conclusion, super powers via retroviruses ftw

I got behind in my YouTube subscriptions. The order if these Wisecrack videos for me now is: don't have kids, but if you do, have spiderkids.
