Ego makes people buy things they dont need to impress people they don't like.

I had an uncle who was very well off. Lived in the same house for 50 years. Owned real estate, gold and silver bars and was so humble. Always donated money anonymously to those in need. I miss him!

Climbing the same stairs from my childhood home with my kids is priceless.

He's right, Being rich AF influences your mind and not always in a good way.

"it's not being rich that's difficult, it's staying sane" If that doesn't make you take a step back, nothing does

A simple house is a home 😊 A big fancy house is a waste of money😊

Charlie and warren are two average guys who put down a good strategy to make money. It worked and they try their best to enjoy it. Rest in peace charlie Munger.

What's wrong with that My father bought a house in 19 30 that was built in 1880 on 40 acres. I finally had to sell it because it was so big in 2003. I sold it to my son who lost it The moral of the story is you never leave things to kids during your life.

I agree with this man! I grew up in a very large house. Really the house was for other people’s enjoyment. You can’t find peace. The house was always full

Keep in mind the house is 4700 sqft. It’s a “humble” house for a billionaire.

The interviewer makes it seems as if he lives in simple modest home. He lived in a mansion. I had opportunity to work at his firm for 20 years. Saw him regularly and became friendly with his long time assistant. I was surprised when she said he was cheap with raises. I hope he left a generous gift for her in his will. Dorothy certainly deserved it. I find out this weekend.

Extremely large houses tend not to be cozy!!

He doesn’t care about flexing because he doesn’t have anything to prove, he is already a LEGEND!

Remember, the bigger the house the emptier it feels. It needs more effort and time to clean. It is more expensive to keep in working order. A modest, but cramped house.

Best house is a happy loving house . Happiness doesn’t need a big space!

I think I’m going to put a sign over my door that says this house is in honor of Charlie Munger😂

The best house would be one that is in a safe area and can fit your needs. Maybe a somewhat secluded location, no hoa, very low crime rate, not too expensive, low property tax, in an area with mostly houses and not apartments, good policing and a culture of neighbors you get along with. Highly diverse areas tend to be highest in crime, highly populous areas tend to have the most poverty which correlates crime, break-ins, etc. and the most expensive for the least privacy and smallest land size
