Warren Buffett: I've Lived In The Same House For Sixty Years

Legendary investor Warren Buffett is known for being very frugal in his personal life, and among the best examples of this is the fact that since he bought his first house in 1958, he's never moved. At this investor meeting, Buffett explains his logic behind such decisions.

I've owned several houses through my life time each larger than the previous one. In the end when i retired I moved back to the old family single story home, paid off a long time ago, with very low property taxes, and in a very quiet and nice neighborhood. The only addition I made was to add a gameroom for the grandkids.

I’m in the army and have done very well. My home back in my hometown is paid off, it’s a modest 4 bed 2 bath in a blue collar neighborhood. I also have 20 acres that I paid off years ago, I planned on building there after army. I will get my Military retirement in 2 years and also have over 100k in stock market. All my cars are paid off.

I’ve been going back and forth on building on my land and having a house payment vs being debt free. Still undecided. With a house payment that’s a payment every month.

So in other words, in order to make a lot of money, you need to spend as little as possible.
Which kind of makes the making of the lot of money quite pointless as you won't spend it, but this is just one of life's conundrums.

Never change and always do the same thing every day until death. It makes life so interesting never to make new friends and learn about other cultures. How do you know "good food" when you eat or drink the same thing all the time. With all the money in the world and able to do anything YOU choose to not GROW. Enjoy you HAPPY LIFE...

Buffett has lived in the SAME LARGEST HOUSE AND GROUNDS in the State of Buffett, er Nebraska for now 65 years, and I have lived in my very small 1925 built house for 40 years. He's 98, I'm 70, so I have lived a MUCH larger percentage of my life in MY house than he has his.

Well if I had Warren buffets money owed focus on health mind and body. I get the gym in my house a personal trainer a indoor pool. No fancy watches no fancy jewelry were the same outfit every day. Keep the cameras away. Toyotas Lexuses relatively cheap cars. Warren had a house in California I don't know if you can do that feasibly especially if you have a woman a regular.. I like California I just don't like the legal problems that could cause a my life potentially. Florida might be a lot better.
