A fun quip but has some truth to it "he didn't intend to get rich". If you arrange your life so you are financially independent due to your investments at a young age, and if you live to an old age, you'll end up mega-rich. already financially independent and have 50+ years of compounding left in front of you, it will happen almost automatically.

there are hundreds of millions of humans around the world who want to be trump. a president and at the same time a billionaire, having both money and power at the same time. but there is only 1 trump. its not about just wanting something, it doesnt work like that. its about being born in the right place and keep being in the right place and in the right time do the right course of actions and make a domino effect. people call it luck. call it whatever you want, but its very much needed if you want to achieve some crazy goals like that in your lifetime. for over 99% its impossible and there is nothing we can do about it, we are far better trying to achieve more reasonable goals and accumulate wealth with compounding, just like charlie said.
