You are the first one that has shown the structure and explained what different parts are! I finally understand what I am looking at! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!

Thank you so much for making this tutorial!! I can't begin to tell you how frustrated I was getting and how many other videos I had watched before finding yours. You really helped me to calm down and stay focused and FINALLY get the hang of this stitch!

Jennifer! I can't tell you how grateful I am for this video. I am taking an Annie's crochet class and learning this stitch was proving to be very frustrating. So I popped over to YouTube and searched for "foundation double crochet". I watched the first few that came up and, although they were helpful in one sense, it wasn't until I saw your video along the side that I knew I'd get it! The way you explained it is so unique and absolutely what my brain needed to make this stitch click! How you had us turn the stitch to the side and look for the "V" was exactly what I needed. I love all your videos and appreciate how much time, energy and effort you put in to teach complete strangers something new! Thank you!

Great video and very clear on how to make a FDC. I had watched other videos on making this and many had started with two chains. I like starting with three chains because it the edge looks better.

Once again I thank you for this and your many informative tutorials ...they have helped me greatly in understanding how to correctly make stitches, especially in where to insert my hook for the given stitch. Blessings

Nice clear instruction. Hard to see the 'V' but practice will make perfect I'm sure. Thanks.

Thanks for the tutorial! Still, I haven't found a single explanation of how to TURN the piece after finishing the row, it seems incomplete to me. There are 3 loops left at the edge and it's not the same as turning when you start with a chain stitch. Any help is very appreciated!!!

The beginning chair 3 does that count as a stitch.?

confused - so your turning chain did not count as a double crochet in a pattern? I have a pattern that calls for either this stitch or the old school chains and then double crochet instead. is there any benefit to this instead?

Does the initial ch 3 count as a double? I am looking at a pattern that calls for 57 fdc...so I am wondering if that is 57 dc posts plus the ch 3 or 56 dc posts plus the ch 3? Thank you for the clear video on the process!
