Making Your Team Better With No Money

So Football Manager has a problem this year - because of COVID finances most of the teams have almost no money at the start of the game. FM21 finances are quickly becoming a much-loathed but necessary feature that managers have to overcome. Naturally, I respond to this sort of issue in the FM universe by making a video with my best tips for overcoming bad finances in the transfer market. Don’t worry, there are plenty of signings to make Football Manager 21 your lady dog (look at this PG-13 content).

This strategy helps you find extra money in FM itself, uses loans heavily, and shows you the levers to pull to get some good free signings forwarded right to your inbox. The types of things that you learn when you read about the game, go Zealand! Really though, I’m torn about including COVID budgets in Football Manager 2021, because the escape from reality is so valuable for so many of us. I can’t argue with realism though. Remember, you’re broke, hopefully just in Football Manager. Because we have shirts.

You should have mentioned this... Sometimes you can "cash-in" on a future clause on a player (Transfers > Clauses), . This is a good way to get money straight away.

I think that this version is much simplier than before regarding signing players on loan. I am managing Legia Warsaw and in first season I have loaned Lassina Traore, Ronald Araujo, Fabio Vieira, Brenner, Jemerson and Ruqui Puig where all of them are couple levels up than rest of the league. Now when I am finishing 2nd season unbeaten in Poland, Alena is coming to me after end of contract and rest of them will be loaned again and again :)

I made a pretty competitive mid table team in Liga MX after getting promoted in FM20 i was able to sign former national team players for free like Jurgen Damm and Diego Reyes for free. I was also able to save careers when there was half decent players on B teams and reserves just rotting away. Also more expensive players means better quality (in theory) so I would look at players with high salaries and little appearances compared to his teammmates and sign them on loan or for dirt cheap.
