Joker: Folie à Deux arrives in cinemas on October 4, but early critics' reviews are worse than the original film at just 60% on Rotten Tomatoes. Todd Phillip's groundbreaking reimagining of the most dangerous villain in Gotham first arrived in theaters in 2019, outside of the larger DCEU. While the film delivered a compelling standalone story, the success of the project resulted in Warner Bro. Studios rushing to greenlight a sequel, and get Joaquin Phoenix back in makeup to expand the story of Arthur Fleck.

However, both the original and the upcoming sequel did not completely resonate with critics, as the scores for both on Rotten Tomatoes were largely mixed. While Joker earned a respectable, but still undeniably mediocre 69%, the sequel is now sitting at just 60% after critics have seen the film ahead of general release. While the original movie may have been challenging in its concepts, and resulted in mixed reviews, the sequel should have been in a much stronger position following the widespread success of Joker.

At best, if they can't include everything we wanted, we could have a Sequel called Harley, and it would get into what was missing from this Film Non-Linear, but from her Perspective to fill in the missing gaps of what wasn't explained in this Film, including her complicated backstory and they could still use me and the extra footage for this Third Film. That would make sense. Lady Gaga might have to play Harley Quinn again and we can get the Full Story, so 3 Films would be their Complete Story. 🤔

I'm okay with their Music Choices, it's about meeting everyone halfway, but what I'm not okay with is them taking away Harley Quinn's back story, she is very complicated, well fleshed out and developed, smart and manipulative, but in a good way. I wanted her to be his Therapist obviously, but an ex-Nun, I wanted her to have a breakdown when her research and Scientific and And Psychology programs start to help patients and they destroy her work and her descent into madness to be much like Catwomen in Tim Burton's Batman Returns, Poison Ivy in Batman and Robin and have Spiritual Elements where she starts to Exhibit Superhero like Powers, like a Marvel Femme Fatale, a Healer so to Speak, despite her going mad and killing people, but the Audience doesn't know if the Superhero elements are real or in Arthur's mind, and an homage to Hal Hartley's Amateur, Ms. 45, Lawndogs and Natural Born Killers, with a Wandavision touch. But the Producers, especially the Insufferable James Gunn want to take away the Powerful Feminine and Spiritual Elements of Ms. Quinzel, which I feel is doing a Disservice to Lady Gaga and her Talent . I also wanted a Darkly Comical Backstory on the Joker's Family, his Sister and Harley Quinn's Family, that would show that they're both equally fucked up for different reasons. This is how I wanted to write Harley Quinn, with still staying true to the Comic, but apparently Warner Brothers and the Producers want to take out all the Spiritual Elements of her Character. So, if the Critics complain that Lady Gaga is not used enough in the Film, that's the Studios fault, not mine or hers. I also wanted Catholic themes and elements in the Film about Redemption. That's a big no-no in Hollywood. So, let's hope there's a Director's Cut that would include all this. It would have to run 2 Hours and 45 Mins., if some of the Musical scenes were trimmed shorter or 3 Hours at the Most. I'm so sick of Audiences having short Attention spans, which doesn't give them time for full fledged Character Development. Pulp Fiction and Tarantino Films are 3 Hours, many Epic Films from the 1970's, Martin Scorsese and even the Titanic, so what is wrong with modern Hollywood, that wants to do away with Romance, Comedy and all Spiritual Elements to Films? You can have your Action and Violence, but it also needs to balance out with the other Tropes and Components.
