Whale slams into boat off coast of Portsmouth, NH

Incredible video shows a boat overturned by a breaching whale, knocking two men into the water.

That poor whale got quite a surprise. And then the boat sank! I’m glad the guys on the boat are OK. I would imagine that their insurance company will be chuckling over this claim. I can hear the “Moby Dick” jokes already.

Knowing how people are reportedly doing stuff in the water that they shouldn’t be doing such as over fishing and underwater development makes me wonder if it’s stressing out the sea life so much to the point that could have something to do with why they’re now lashing back

Let’s reverse the damage done to their habitats, and just leave them alone

The whale is an endangered right whale. Very rare. Sighting one is a once-in-a-lifetime occurrence now. They used to be common all over the world. Overwhaling has brought the species to the brink of extinction. They haven’t recovered even as a protected species, numbers aren’t any higher than in the 1960s when they were first listed. Females have one calf every two years and it takes several years for a female to mature enough to mate.
