If anyone is interested, the bloke the whale landed on is called Tom Mustill and he has written a book called 'How to Speak Whale'. Genuinely a fantastic read and he directly talks about this video!

One of the guys on that kayak is a biologist and filmmaker named Tom Mustill, and you can read more about his near-death experience in his recent book "How to speak whale", which is about whales and their forms of communication. He's quite a character, I recommend the read.

There's no way that whale landed on the kayakers and they not only survived, but were smiling. I'm sure it landed extremely close causing the kayak to be knocked over.
