Making Homemade Perogies for the Holidays * Including Recipe *

In this video I show you from start to finish how my family and I make homemade perogy (pierogi) for the holidays. Potato and cheese is one of the most popular versions and I provide step by step instructions. I've included my family recipe below, so join me for some fun cooking.

Dough:
4 cups white all purpose flour
water as needed
4 - 5 tbsp melted butter/margarine
1/2 - 3/4 cup sour cream
1 egg
pinch of salt

Filling
5 - 6 lbs potatoes, peeled
1 container dry cottage cheese
1/2 - 1 cup cheddar cheese or cheese whiz
1 onion, sautéed in butter or margarine
salt and pepper to taste
crispy bacon, diced (optional)
cream cheese (optional)
