Also, I will be shutting down our Patreon account near the end of this year in replacement for the self-hosted solution though Ghost. Ghost is what I am now using to run the website and the newsletter. There will be a free option and a $5/mo option to support the channel and get some exclusive content!

So good to see nextcloud making progress, i just installed it 2 weeks ago in my proxmox environment and it's been great for my general use within the household. I can't wait for the day their mobile app sees some much needed improvement and functionality. Video previews would be nice too lol

i'd love to see more of these news style videos. sure, Nick already does it and has more experience, but it is always nice to hear news from multiple perspectives.

I love the Linux news idea! Looking forward to more of these!

As you have recently gotten a Macbook and there is literally no one talking about getting into MacOS from Linux, and discussing their similarities, differences, and alternative applications could you please make a video on that? Specifically about how you moved to a MacOS setup from Gnome with all the keybinds, regular workflow, etc.

It still shocks me Fedora and redhat can't support the H.264 & H.265/VC1 codecs to be fair, I on the otherhand do not have fedora on my main system. But for those that do does it or will effect your experience when comes to video content?

I have come to really like Gnome and the Pop!_OS take on it, but I am eager to try the Rust Cosmic.

I have recently tested Nextcloud hosted by IONOS and HETZNER (incredible pricing) but the Only Office integration is not working and since I have done some settings the file sync is buggy.

I've used Iced a few times in the past, and I dunno how to feel about it. I love the idea of Elm, and I love Rust, but I can't say my time with Iced was smooth. Maybe I've yet to grok it, but I've spent about the same amount of time learning Svelte, and an app that I couldn't finish in 3-4 days in Iced I did in a few hours in Svelte. It feels unfinished. (Which is fair, since it's still at 0.5.)

I read somewhere, can't seem to find it now, that the whole fedora codec thing will be even more of a non issue for Nvidia users of the proprietary drivers which do their own decoding. So at least there is that..

It’s true about Fedora. I have a low-end laptop at the table for YouTube, and on Fedora, it was a terrible experience, a stutter-y mess even at 360p. Mint MATE produces a significant improvement, it defaults to 1080 60 and it actually manages.

How will this effect using Davinci Resolve The paid one in fedora?

Tbh the only reason I don't use Nextcloud is it's not e2e encrypted and I can't be bothered hosting my own instance. I wish there was a good, open-soure, e2e alternative to Nextcloud...

TechHut, your news letter format is awesome. I'd give it two thumbs up, if YouTube would let me.
