I *LOVE* this aspect of Norm’s style. I grew up on the border of Quebec not 50 miles from where Norm was raised. He was raised in that weird “limbo” where Toronto culture and Quebec culture blended like curdled SPAM.

BUT WE LIVED THE SAME REALITY! 🤣 We lived in the Siberian poop-chute, right on the border. My Granddad talked just like Norm, my Dad did, and even my super-beloved Granny had that style. 😄 They were all people who “fell” over the border at some point in their history, mated with a few natives, and “became” English speakers. They could tell yarns like no one else on earth. If ANYONE thinks that Norm created this characterization out of his butt—NO WAY. He was authentic. He brings timing to it, but THAT is the REAL THING. Oh, man. I moved far, far away, but missed my Ewok folk ❤️😄. Now all my family is gone, my parents died too young, and Norm is gone. He made me laugh, remembering the good times in a tough region. I’m glad we have him on so many accessible media outlets. Maybe he was not to everyone’s taste, but NO ONE dares to express a wry sense of humor in these dark times, and he kicked ass in that department. Genius comic and actor. I shut-out the sick world by listening to Norm ramble as “white noise” as night. 😂 What a loss, but he’s still around. We all know it.
