Norm just loves bleeding the awkwardness dry. He thrives on the audience's tension. I've never seen another comic like that. Most comics seek to break that tension at all cost. Norm builds it like a pressure cooker and rides the wave.

The lack of fear and the nonchalance towards the intense pressure just about every other human would feel in the situation of being an unknown comic - alone in front of a camera in front of millions of people- is remarkable here. Guess that’s one of the reasons he’s a pioneer!

I love how his jokes are horrible but his delivery is so perfect that he’s still funny… the best part is, he probably just improvised this bit
