It’s sweet potato season!

I know marshmallow sweet potato casserole is a treasured American classic, but hear me out - there’s another way to make SPC that’s just as good or maybe even better - with a pecan crumb topping! A few people in my family who don’t like the marshmallow version love this, I’m asked to bring it to all of our fall holiday gatherings.

Here’s the recipe:

**Sweet Potato Filling**

- 4 cups baked sweet potato
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/3 cup cream
- 2/3 cup brown sugar

**Crumb Topping**

- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 cup chopped pecans

**Bake for an hour at 350 (cover for first 30 minutes and watch the crumb so it doesn’t burn)**

That's how we always did the crumb topping only. I love it that way without the marshmallows.
