Sweet Potato Casserole

I made this recipe for this year’s thanksgiving and everyone loved it! There were a few changes made to the recipe. I used half the amount of brown sugar and followed his pro tip on adding candied pecans (so worth doing). He has a separate recipe for that.

I also lowered the temp to 350F and let the potato casserole bake first for 15 mins before topping it off with the marshmallows and pecans so they do not burn! We will definitely make this again next year. Thank you for the recipe and hope someone else finds this helpful! :)

I've enjoyed reading the comments by those who do not live in the US and have never celebrated Thanksgiving. We have a friend from Germany who visited us for Thanksgiving one year and decided before arriving that she hated the idea of pumpkin pie. She fell in love with it and took home two cans of pumpkin puree so that she could make it for her family who loved it too! Marshmallows, brown sugar and sweet potatoes are heavenly all year 'round. This is my 3rd Thanksgiving making this dish, and third different oven I've used. 45mins just isn't enough to soften the potatoes, I'd recommend longer
