Create A Windows 11 USB Installer For Unsupported PC Hardware
so you have a old pc that does not meet Microsoft windows 11 requirements and you still want to install windows 11 on unsupported hardware , I will show you how to create a bootable USB flash drive that supports old computers, so you can install windows 11 on unsupported hardware.

Warning: This video is for tutorial purposes only and I do not recommend that you run windows 11 on unsupported hardware. You do so at your own risk.

Since I watched (and followed) this video almost a year after it was posted, I feared there would be differences -- and there were. Everything was good until I tried to change the "Image Option" (at 4:36); there was no option for "No TPM..." listed. Only 2 options were given; "Standard Installation", or, "Windows to Go". I stayed with the default "Standard...". Fortunately, the option to load the desired "No TPM..." appeared after I clicked "START". Then it gave me the choice to load the ISO with the TPM requirement removed. So far, so good. I'll let you know how it goes.
UPDATE: I edited this comment a few hours after I began. I tried to install Win11 on a 10 year old Dell Latitude E6320, but got an error message telling me that I had to make changes in the BIOS in order for the install to work. It took me a while to figure it out, but now I have Win11 installed and running! Thank you! (All I need to do now is figure out how to "activate" it. Suggestions?)
UPDATE AGAIN! Even though I skipped the "Activation" section early in the install process ("I don't have a key"), it automatically activated anyway. Very Nice!!
3rd UPDATE: (Geeze, I'm such a noob!) Also, it was easy to install WITHOUT an MS account. I used a local account and it was easy to circumvent that "requirement". Just to give everyone my background, for over 40 years (starting back in the DOS days), I have been helping people with their computer issues (proud member of the IAoVCST, International Association of Volunteer Computer Support Technicians), and am often asked to help senior citizens (since I am one) with their computer issues. Even though I am running Win10 on my daily driver, plus my travel notebook machines, I have found that I am often being asked to help people setup a newer computer running Win11. I was determined to learn more about this new OS without having to buy a new machine. Thank you, again!

Some older machines may not be able to boot from a USB with GPT and will need to be made using MBR. My Dell Inspiron N5110 when I made the USB using GPT all I got were dots and a lockup screen. After some searching, I found out it was because of GPT. I remade the USB using MBR instead and had no issues. Now all 4 of my computers are running Windows 11. Only one is official. A friend brought me an Acer ES1-533 laptop at a pawn shop it came with windows 10 and had a strange bug. It kept telling me this version of Windows is no longer supported. I couldn't get it to update. I noticed it had TPM in bios and TPM 2.0 listed under device manager So I made a Windows 11 USB and it installed fine, I have no issue. Then I found that other option and did the other 3 computers. I test one then after did the rest.

there is a couple setting you need to change for some older computers that only boot in legacy. like change partiton scheme to MBR then change target system to bios (or UEFI-CSM) or at least that is what i had to do to get my dell optiplex 780 to boot the windows 11 ISO

Thanks Brian I tried it out on my old Ivy Bridge build and it worked and I shall keep it for as long as the updates keep coming. It gives me a chance to see what the oS is like before I finally upgrade my main laptop. Again thanks for being the best👍😊

I'm still considering whether to install windows 11 on my hp g elitebook laptop. It has tpm 1.2 but the cpu is not supported at all. However, your way of the installation process makes it as easy as possible.

Works 2 years later but the options have changed a little bit now you leave it "Standard Windows installation" there are some checkboxes to select after you press start

Does simply not work! I own a computer with secure boot, TPM 2.0 and a processor not being compatible for Windows 11. At the end of the update process it returns always to Windows 10 showing an update error for Windows 11.

I installed this on my Dell Inspiron 11, circa 2017, and it works great. There is a new version of the Rufus download that works a little differently, so some of your instructions don't fit. But I figured it out without too much difficulty. Thanks for the great video.

There is no down arrow to select Download. I selected the Rufus 3.17 Portable 1.3 version
