When you see how it's done by an expert, it seems easy. But until you get that demonstration, and if you never seen it done before, it's not easy. Thanks so much, for going to the effort of making a great video.

Great Job! I love the way the damaged brick just fell out on your Sawzall. Sweet! I'm going to have to get diamond blades for both my grinder and circular. Thanks.

Hero! I need to cut my way through a five layer garden brick retaining wall, and I need to "step" my way down. Sure, I can use a stonemason's hammer and bolster, but I realised it would damage the mortar in the remaining wall section as each blow affects several bricks in the region. So, I used a masonry drill, only to realise it was too slow. Your video was perfect and I'm very surprised how quickly you cut your way through. So I'm off to buy a masonry cutting blades to fit to my 100mm grinder and circular saw. Thanks a heap of bricks for that. From Australia.

Excellent! From start to finishing removal. "Turning the brick nice touch" and the best thing to have done.

Thanks for the video demonstration.

Use a margin trowel. A small rectangular trowel sold in most hardware stores and all Home Depots on the masonry isle. Pick up the mud, invert the trowel as you place it in the void and smooth the mortar out. Butter the side of the bricks on either side of the cavity and slide the replacement brick in the spot. Use a tuckpointer to push the mud in around the brick on all sides. Finish the mortar to match the bricks around it.

By the way don't pay any attention to those rude comments, I don't think they would talk that way if they saw you face-to-face. And I don't think they have the brains or talent to make a video like you did. Cowards.

is it really a hundred year old house? Those bricks look like they date from the 1980s. Maybe it's a modern part of an otherwise c.1912 property.

Much much better than the guy who just patched the brick with cement! LOL!

My Arbortech Allsaw would have that brick out, without any overcut, in about 1 minute

Oh yeah because a person couldn't use this technique for replacing a brick?

Not the best idea taking the guard off the angle grinder.

ah this sucks. I only have one single brick to remove and replace like this, but now I have to spend hundreds of dollars on tools for one damn brick! Surely there is a cheaper way to do this myself? Can I not just chisel the bastard out and replace with a sing brick and apply mortar and be done with it?
