My A1C was 14.1 just over 2 years ago. I started taking Rybelsis... it brought my numbers down slightly. I decided a year ago to stop eating processed foods and keeping my daily carbohydrate count below 30. My last A1C was 5.5. I am no longer classified as a diabetic. What we eat is far more important than the meds we take. Animals fats are not the enemy. Carbohydrates are.

Taking a statin was the beginning of my husband's cognitive decline.

I find it sad that doctors go through all that schooling only to find out that they've become legal drug salesman.

It is so refreshing to hear from a doctor that is not beholden to the pharmaceutical industry! Thank you Dr. Boz!

Statins ripped out 17 pounds of my muscle before we caught it just in time. My current MD keeps twisting my arm to start another! I am going to FIRE HIM! 😅

You are doctor I wish I had. My group of general doctors don’t really like me because they can’t just prescribe, I’m allergic to everything, plus I hate pills. I make them work to help me naturally and a couple of them don’t like it or willing to research - I take up too much time for them. Thank God I am fairly in good health.

*_Hearty congrats DoctorBoz, for your admirable career goals, leading by example and outstanding approach to patient care! Regrettably, it seems to be the "norm" for prescriptions to be readily made and "forgotten, " thereafter!_* 😊⭐👊✨

You are a breath of fresh air Dr Boz. This video hit differently. . I like that word " deprescribing ". When my doctor keeps me on meds too long, I deprescribe myself and make lifestyle changes.

69 yo male here. Am having incredible success after getting off statins and on Repatha injection every two weeks. Never had better lab numbers and no muscle pain. Diet hasn't changed much, lots of protein and limited carbs. Try to keep salt low due to Menieres and drink tons of water. Walking some, need to walk more. Would love to gain muscle back. So far, so good.

And yet that is what I would expect when I go to the doctors office. It’s as if they feel they haven’t done their job until I leave with a prescription. That’s not what I went for. I went to find out the root of whet is causing the issue so I could self correct, not rely on the mediation with all of the side effects and long term consequences.

I've long wondered about this because several years ago I heard doctors were taking statins, and I've wondered since then if I should be too. Thank you for clearing this up.

A minimal dose like 10mg. The numbers need to be brought to normal range or band. Why ? To avoid professional liability issue(s).

The problem with North American, British and Australian medicine is that doctors are taught how to medicate and operate people rather then teaching them.
