Forget about total cholesterol numbers, just get your triglycerides down and your HDLs up with a low carb diet. And never take statins.

The plaque that builds up is kind of like a type of inflammatory immune response to physical damage in the artery. Artery is broken, the plaque is the bandaid. The real cause of concern is not the plaque or the cholesterol that is trapped in it, but the initial damage. < if you can prevent this, it doesn't matter how high or low your cholesterol is because it won't be used for patching arteries.

Common causes of arterial tears:
▪excessive insulin
▪︎excessive cortisol
▪︎smoking
▪︎ingestion of asbestos
▪︎physical trauma
▪︎carcinogenics
▪︎psychological stress

But if an artery is already compromised, then this above mentioned list will not avail as these are prevention mechanisms. Then you will need to find ways to reduce the cholesterol.

saturated fat is good from good sources like beef, olive oil, avocadoes. Saturated fat from veg oils is the killer

I have exercised every single day for 31 years, have never been overweight and still have high cholesterol. I tried statins but felt like a 90 year old within 2 days. My joints were in so much pain I couldn’t even stand up and I’m someone who runs 5 miles/day and have never had any muscle or joint problems whatsoever. It is mind blowing they don’t have better cholesterol reducing medications out there. I have heard about Repatha but the reviews on that are even worse than statins

LDL is not "bad". HDL return fat to the liver LDL takes fat, and vitamins to the tissues. Both are essential. It is only small dense LDL that gets deposited in the arteries and that only happens due to inflammation caused by metabolic syndrome. So its not so much the losing weight that's a good idea but the fact that losing weight and cutting out, carbs means there is less insulin screwing up your arteries.

My doctors are pushing for other reasons than cholesterol and I don't want it. My cholesterol is normal by the way.

My cholesterol, LDL, and HDL numbers are not within normal limits. I exercise regularly, maintain a good weight, and have an acceptable BMI. I have a good diet. I avoid fried and processed foods. I get 15-30 grams of fiber daily. My doctor, who needs to lose over 100 pounds, prescribed statins. Where is the breakdown here? I am following the guidelines, but my numbers don’t reflect it.

re-prescribed statins as my bad level is 3.2 & I had a heart attack in 2011 - all I know is if they bother me like the others - forget it

Cholesterol is in your entire circulatory system. Why is there clogging of the ARTERIES close to the heart and not in the veins or capillaries in your nose, ear or knee?
This is because the pumping of the heart can cause hairline cracks. Blood pressure is highest in this area. These hairline cracks are repaired by a sticky substance LP(a), to prevent from getting worse.

Why don't animals have cardiovascular disease?
Almost all animals produce large amounts of vitamin C in their liver.
On average 35 mg/kg body weight. So we have to take at least about 3000 mg of vitamin C ourselves because humans cannot make vitamin C. You get strong collagen tissue, strong connective tissue, strong arteries. Hairline cracks no longer form and arterial plaque is removed and burned in the liver.

Repair with cholesterol is therefore a consequence of a deficiency of vitamin C.
So do not take statins, but vitamin C in a high dose: at least 3 grams, better: 6 to 10 grams

This girl needs to look at latest RESEARCH, not rely on what she was told in medical school, or by the Lipitor rep.

What if I have a stent? How can I drop statins safely? I am taking rosuvastatin 10 mg once a day currently.

The body makes LDL and it is only an issue if it gets damaged and shrinks into dense particles...not fluffy like the body makes it. Get HDL up and triglycerides down.

I recently spoke to a pharmacist, she said they are very effective and side effects are low. She said 1 in 1, 000 but then changed her mind to 1 in 100. I think it was simple her opinion. I asked about, what's the number to treat... She seemed unable or unsure. She said 'that's research'. I think that's what I was after. Not really helpful.

So why do all meds have such dangerous or deadly side effects?

These are Statin avoiders, not alternatives.
