Break teams are just far more cheaper to build. If you’re not willing to pull for eidolons or LC, i think going for a hypercarry Ratio is just better than a full FUA team if we’re talking about investment value.

Arguably imo FUA team needs more investment in relic besides of limited units. Break teams only needs BE and spd then done. So Break meta is actually insane but lets see how well it can hold up in the future

Though I use Dr. Ratio in my FUA team, I wouldn't say he is an FUA unit for he is better suited for a hypercarry debuff team.

He is the weakest link in the FUA team, and if a better damage dealer is to occur, in no time he would be the to be eliminated. A blast character that is similar to Clara but is as front loaded as Ratio is the dream.

If Break Effect had stronger potency on things like the DoT or delay maybe it will be more fun to play.

Right now characters like Ruan Mei or Xueyi or even Boothill are only forced to build Break Effect because of stat scaling in their kits which is not too different from Aventurine being forced to build DEF

I decided to go for DOT and break teams mainly because they're really fun (fua was too expensive 🥴) and for crit i have Acheron and DHIL. I like having a lot of options and different teams fo try and dot with break can have overlapping characters (Acheron too with Jiaoqiu). Can't wait for Firefly:D

I think you should be including Clara in the follow up teams, especially if you're including Himeko in them. While Clara can be enemy dependent, this can be managed with smart placement of her in teams, and good use of her ultimate. Himeko is just as vulnerable to dev meddling, as she requires breaks to actually use her follow ups. Personally I use and prefer Clara in my follow up teams over Dr Ratio, and I have both built.

Break would be better for lower investment players.

Break is a modified form of hypercarry. RM isnt 100% needed. Yeah shes OP and fits into so many team comps, but you can build a break team using 4 stars and free characters.

I’ve been a Break player since I first started, it’s really just easier to understand “big bar go down = big damage” than some other playstyles. Coincidentally I’m pretty stoked that Firefly’s shaping up to be a great Break char, since she’s my first fav in a while

I enjoy both, but personally Break is my favourite team comp in the game. I have Ratio/Topaz/Robin/Aventurine and like that team, but it’s gonna be more of a niche team for me once Boothill and Firefly come out because I also prefer DoT and have my Acheron team sorted.

My favourite team by far is definitely DoT (and that's without Kafka atm). Love the pile-on Black Swan gives 😆💕

Otherwise, I have some dual dps teams that are enemy weakness dependent and hyper carries like DHIL and Acheron.

I'm playing around with Ratio, since I have him and might as well build him and there are a lot of follow-up attackers in my roster. Though he feels more like a debuff team player, rather than follow-up. So he competes with Acheron for support units.

Don't have Clara or Himeko, sadly. Fire and Physical are definitely weaknesses in my line-up. Unlikely to pull for Boothill though. I prefer destruction or erudition units to hunt. I'm keeping an eye out for how Firefly's kit turns out 🤞🏻 Though Jade is calling to me 🙈

Break can be easily nerfed/powercrept by enemies when they have break invulnerability or huge break bars

The f2p options for FUA are very lacking, theres no comparison. Every good FUA requires most if not all units to be 5 stars

Was able to clear this new PF full stars, but it is rough having no 5* DoT units

While FuA is more expensive to pull and build, it's been "the meta" since 1.6, with dedicated support and new and stronger dps options being released every patch. All the content is also tailor made for follow up to accomodate these new characters. So FuA is by far a better investment since it's very likely to be future proof as they haven't shown signs of slowing down with buffing the archetype.

Translating to Genshin terms since a lot of us came from there, Break is the Dendro element of HSR, cheaper to build and can compete with more traditional teams like hypercarry.

I just started the game two weeks ago and could use some advice! I got himeko off the beginner banner, and then went for fu xuan. Got her early, so I’ve been saving the rest of my pulls for Ruan mei. At pity on standard I pulled himeko’s lightcone, which I know is pretty dog, but I’m wondering if people think it’s worth leveling her and her lc? I’m cautious about spending my early game resources too recklessly (coming from genshin), but it feels kind of ridiculous to have a 5 star dps with her signature and be building QQ as my dps instead. Should I not be so stingy with my resources? I’m new to gacha as of 8 months ago, and typically get the monthly pass but haven’t bought anything else. Thanks for any advice!
