Colton loves sitting, so we got him a $795 USD chair to see if Herman Miller's first entry into the gaming chair market with the Vantum is actually worth sitting on or if it's just a status symbol.

It’s so nice of Linus to let Colton make videos even though he doesn’t work there anymore.

My office chair I got for free like 7 years ago is finally starting to wear out. Hearing the prices on these chairs seemed insane to me so I decided to finally look under my chair to find out the model and cost to replace it...turns out I've been sitting on a $2000 Steelcase Leap. I don't think I will ever be able to afford to replace it lol.

For anyone considering one of these, I would recommend checking out other reviews before deciding. Common thread seems to be the chair is decent, however it is not Herman Miller good when compared to the rest of their line up, despite carrying a Herman Miller price.

I know anything would be an upgrade over my wooden chair with a thin cushion, but this actually looks great.

4:14 As someone that works in the plastic industry glass filled nylon is some of the best resin you an use in an application like this. It has great structural integrity and basically lasts forever. It is also a real pain in the ass to work with lol

I worked at cascade engineering for a few years making parts for hermin miller. Mostly for the Mirra chairs. When I left, I purchased one and still have it over 10 years later. Hermin Miller has great r&d going into their products to be sustainable, comfy, and resilient even if they are a little pricey compared to other brands. The glass filled nylon has the benefits of being "springy" and tougher than other plastics. But dropping the glass filled nylon will give you a heart attack as it sounds like a thousand glass cups hitting the floor and shattering.

I had a maxnomic gaming char for years and struggled with back pain if I spent more than a couple hours at my desk. I tried upgrading to the herman miller aeron and even after a couple months with it, still had the back pain. I got a steelcase gesture and within a week my backpain was gone and hasn't returned since.

Chairs are so much about finding the right fit for your body, so it can take some work and reviews can only help so much without trying it for yourself.

I'd always recommend to check office surplus sites/stores for used/refurb versions of the high end Herman Miller chairs like the Aeron. Picked one up for £260 shortly after WFH started.

About 5 years ago, the company my dad works at downsized and their office department were getting rid of their office chairs. At the time I wasn't familiar with the name Herman Miller, but I knew office departments were known to have high-end chairs. There were a few good condition chairs at my dad's work and he told me I should swing by and take one home. So I drove the 5 mile round trip to picknone up and use in my room. It was a very comfy mesh office chair, a bit used and worn in, but I loved it. It wasn't until a few months later, after watching a LTT/Gamers Nexus video on office vs gamer chairs, that I realized that my chair looked very similar to the Herman Miller that was being shown. I searched for markings on my chair to see if my hunch was correct, and lo and behold, it turned out my chair was indeed a genuine Herman Miller Aeron. I had essentially paid less than $2 USD in gas for an HM Aeron. I later found an aftermarket headrest designed by former HM Aeron designers that aleviated the lack of head support for the Aeron too.
Years later and even after it's use in the office space, this chair still holds up to it's design and quality and has easily been the best money I never spent for my setup

My Herman Miller Aeron chair just turned 11 years old and is still working great. I have used it as my only gaming and home office chair for over a decade. The price at the time of purchasing did feel high, but now that I average out the price to the amount of use it has seen it doesn't feel that expensive anymore. That chair has moved house with me three times and doesn't show signs of breaking down.
I have added an aftermarket head rest to it as originally it did not have one.

Man, I'm so glad to see LTT getting into the Holiday Spirit this December by getting Ralphie from A Christmas Story to review a chair! Love you guys! ;)

Finally, a gaming chair that doesn't look like a bucket seat. Still can't figure out why gaming brands always went for the most uncomfortable shape back then.

I love that they always get multiple people to try it out

I’ve missed Colton videos, especially Colton chair videos. He needs to be out of the office doing business deals and on camera more! My favorite part of his chair videos are how uncomfortable the staff/whoever they wrangle to test out the chairs look. 😂

The chair market really tends to be as Colton put it - you get what you pay for. After going through multiple chairs in the past from Staples, I had enough. I picked up an Aeron earlier this year and I've thoroughly loved it ever since. The *only* shortcoming I've encountered with it was the frame design and how it can cut into your legs if you're not sat right, and the fact it didn't come with a headrest.

As far as I am aware, this is pretty well the only HM product to come direct from the factory with a headrest. Glad to see a more moderately priced HM product that can last for a long time! Thanks for looking into it, ShortCircuit fellows!

This shortcircuit was so entertaining while hitting all the points of a short circuit. Kind of wish the audio could have been fixed to actually reflect the USD pricing error aside from the subtitles, but overall was really good!

The speed run and getting others in the office to try it was great, and I really liked the anecdotes comparing other chairs!

I got the Embody Gaming Chair from Herman Miller too. It is really nice and wouldn't trade but its insanely expensive compared to the Vantum.

my favorite part about this chair is that it has "gamer" aesthetic while ditching the horrendous bucket seats. We've been pretending those nightmares are comfy for way too long.

Hey all,

Thank you for actually having people of different sizes sitting in the chair.
That helps out as I am a big boy and would like to know how the seat feels.

Makes me feel included, thanks!

I've had the Herman Miller Embody and the Aeron. To be honest, I didn't like the hard edges on the Aeron and the Embody simply felt hard, it even made my tailbone hurt after a week. I currently use a Secret lab Titan that I've had for 3, 5 years and I think it's better for me. It's also a 3rd of the cost which is nice.
