For people pronouncing it catch-aye...that is a different word with a different meaning. Usually spelled in cachet in English, it means either prestige or a distinguishing mark. A cache (pronounced CASH) is a collection of items of similar type stored together.
This is kind of like the difference between the words Yeah and Yea. Though often used interchangeably, and having a similar meaning (a positive response), the pronunciation of Yeah has an uh at the end (ye-uh) while Yea is phonetically often more closely represented by yay (y with a long a sound).

Anyone use OmniDiskSweeper to clear up laptop storage space? If you delete cache through there for example Adobe cache or cache from music/movie file will doing so not make the file open anymore?

If you enable "Develop" on Safari, you can clear Cache only.

Is the same true for apps and I'm wondering does my phone store cache images that might appear on my screen while browsing? I'm trying to learn why i receive ads or suggested pages across multiple related apps (Etsy seller and Etsy buyer app) that are related but have different account emails. The only thing I can think of is that because I signed into Etsy buyer app where I have favourited items, that I'm getting suggested shops on my Etsy seller app, even though I've never searched those shops or products on the Etsy seller app
