I sorta saw this coming. Good move, I think. Splitting into history was a bold move and took off wonderfully.

Considering extra credits was the original show on this channel and what the channel was named after, it's feels kind of weird that that's the show that's moving, but I guess it makes sense to move just one show rather than moving all the other shows

Definitely panicked at first but Not too surprised this is happening.
The history/literature content felt like a side-note when they first started making it but now it feels like the primary motivation for a lot of viewers.
I’m also aware that YouTube penalizes channels if some of their videos don’t do as well as others and there’s certainly a divide between the two types of content offered here.
Can’t wait to to see what they’ve got.

I'm both a gamer and a history nerd, so I watched both types of videos, but I guess I am a vend outlier (inlier?). Subscribing to two channels is easy peasy though, so I'm excited that you're excited and can't wait to see where you go with it.

This helps me a lot. I subscribed a LONG time ago for the gaming videos but overtime it's been lost with the history videos to the point I tend to overlook the gaming videos when scrolling through my subs.

I think this is both a good move for everyone involved in the long run, including the infamous YouTube algorithm

This channel is truly a Ship of Theseus. It has changed writers, changed artists, changed narrators, changed art styles, and changed topics (some of these have even happened multiple times). All the component parts of the channel have been switched out or replaced since the early 2010s, and yet it still feels like the same channel.

Been a subscriber for about 9 years now since sophomore year of college, really glad to see you guys will be doing more videos in the gaming space, i absolutely love your videos on history, literature, and mythology but, going over game design, mechanics, moral good design and other topics in the gaming space is what got me hooked on your channel. Oh. I see. I... I thought they were separate channels all along. But y'all rebranded at some point and I completely lost track. Now you're essentially re-creating the Extra Credits and leaving the power of the original channel behind. I gotcha. This clears so much up in my mind.

Finding content series in this channel has been kind of a jumbled mess... So, I'm really glad to see this split happening. I like both sets of content, and will subscribe to both. But, making it a little easier to navigate is really appreciated.

You either die a gaming channel or live long enough to change into history channel and launch a gaming side channel whilst switching the names around for some reason
