Hopefully you will learn from my experience and avoid this common beginner's mistake in Spanish
So quick review: 'me gustas' = 'I like you' and 'te gusto' = you like me
Hope this was helpful!

That's not embarrassing. That's a power move.

Be careful, though. "I like you" would be translated as "Me caes bien" if you want to say you like spending time with someone as a friend. If you say "Me gustas" people might think you like them in a romantic way.

From a native Spanish speaker pov now I understand why a lot of foreigners get confused and use the wrong nouns… this language is crazy I would never in my life dare to learn Spanish if it wasn’t my native language😂 so props to you

La misma confusión tenemos cuando empezamos a aprender inglés.

As a native Spanish-speaking person, if you say: "te GUSTO" it's "you like me" but if you say "te GUSTÓ" it's "you liked it". A lot of Spanish words have different meanings depending on the accent. Be careful next time!

Me encanta cuando alguien que habla inglés se interesa tanto por el español 😂 sobre todo cuando explotan por las conjugaciones

Your pronunciation is actually pretty spot on though, don't worry about those details because Im sure we make those kind of mistakes too when speaking english

I feel you. When I first learned to say "my heart" was mi corazon, I thought it was mi queorazon. Everybody laughed at me 😂😂😂😂

Just listen to the song: "Me gustas tú" and you will remember it forever

For say I like you it’s more correct to say me gustas, ❤❤ I love when people are learning my lenguaje!

I’m a year into learning Spanish everyday thru apps, movies, tv shows, music & real life conversations. My best exp for speaking came at work speaking to Spanish coworkers in Spanish while they speak to me in English. It helped me learn Spanish while they learned English.

Pay attention to the stress syllable in "gusto", since it sounds like you're saying "te gustó" instead of "te gusto".
Te gustó - You liked it
Te gusto - You like me

Remember to keep your pronounciation of "te gusto" like the first time you said it. Cause the second and the third time you pronounced it in past tense (te gustó) wich means "you liked it" or "did you like it" in the case of it being in a question

be careful because "me gustas" means I like you as in "I'm attracted to you". If you wanna say you like them as a friend or as a person say "me agradas" o "me caes muy bien" (it's like saying you get along so well that they "fit" your personality, which I just realized is such a funny way to tell people you like them 😂)

En español mexicano, decir que "te gusta alguien" suele interpretarse que te atrae esa persona, no sólo que te agrada de manera amistosa.
