This video helped me indirectly. I had an old chime add-on from EcoBee attached to my chime. And it stopped the Ring Doorbell Pro from chiming our mechanical chime. Opened it up and said oh there's my problem, removed it and blammo, worked like it was intended. So thanks for pointing me to my chime. I thought I had messed up somewhere.

Great video. Clear, concise and complete. Speaking directly into closer microphone rather than off to the side would improve audio quality significantly.

You showed how to wire the back of the electronic chime but not how to wire a mechanical chime for a video doorbell. I have two red wires (separated) and two white wires that are twisted together. If I connect anything to the trans screw the doorbell rings constantly. Have not yet checked the transformer but it worked with my old Ring doorbell. That said, this is the best video doorbell troubleshooting video I've watched. Thanks.

Great video!! Thank you for explaining each step clearly and at a pace I could keep up with. Usually they spk too fast or take short cuts losing me.

Step 1.5 touch the white and red wire after removing the doorbell and if the chime rings the doorbell was the problem avoid next steps 😅.

Well I have an issue with my ring wired doorbell. My transformer is good and it is throwing 17.9v when measured. However, my chime doesn’t have voltage and my ring camera either. Not sure what happened as it had been working with no issues for about 7 years

Hello and thank you for the video! I recently bought the eufy wired dual cam doorbell only to find out that it doesn't work with my analog doorbell which i recently replaced and want to use to keep the wireless stuff at my house minimum. I upgraded the transformer and installed the ring power kit but with no luck. do you know how to make the home doorbell work with the analogue chime? I saw some people blogging they did it, but it's hard to understand instructions. Thanks for the feedback!

I don't understand why after installing my new transformer 24 volt 40va for my ring second generation doorbell....my existing door chime still isn't working. I'm only getting 12 volts there when I ring the doorbell. Any suggestions would be helpful.

What do I do if this what seems to be happening to me. I upgraded my previous Ring doorbell with the new Ring Plus. My older model I connected myself, the house would chime and everything was perfect. Only reason I upgraded was because the video quality had been affected due to elements and me owing for 5 years. The new Ring Plus installed similarly and the house would chime but after a week of use, we don’t hear the interior chime. Only get alerts through the app. When I check the app, the battery shows as hard wired and receives charge . I went ahead tried trouble shooting and idk what is going on, but literally when I unscrewed the cables from the doorbell and rubbed them together, the chime worked. Just doesn’t work anymore when I screw in firmly to the back of the Ring doorbell camera. Please help!!

I replaced my mechanical doorbell that worked just fine with a c4-pw nouveau Westminster chime doorbell. The bell only plays while holding down the button. I installed a diode in the button and it continually plays the chime. I tried several diodes in case I hooked it up the wrong way and they all do the same thing. I hooked up a different transformer that I bought specifically for this doorbell and it did not fix the problem. I don't know what else to do. HELP!!!

Having a problem. I have a smart Doorbell (Dahua 2K doorbell) so Directly at my transformer it reads 16V, at my doorbell it rings 16V. at the chime it only reads 1V when the doorbell is pressed. My Doorbell is outputting great video and has no issues rings to my phone through the doorbell app (DMSS) but the Chime (Mechanical) does not ding dong at all.. when the doorbell is pressed I have a multi meter on the trans & front terminal and again only 1V which I’m sure is the problem, not enough power to flip the hammer to ding. But why is it enough power for the smart doorbell ? Very frustrating troubleshooting this hopefully you can help out.
Thanks

How do you wire the transformer? I have two double wires coming in from the button (so four wires) and a transformer box with three screw connectors. 😮

Hello just saw this video I had a gen 1 ring camera my door chime was working with it but I changed it to the 2nd gen camera now the door chime doesn't work the rear one works fine but nothing up front do you know what it could be? Also the 2nd gen doesn't have that power pack do you think it could be that?

Bro, I tried everything you suggested (great video BTW) but I’m not getting mechanical doorbell to ring. It will ring with the old button, but not with either one of the 2 Ring doorbells I tried. When I first connect the wire to the 24V transformer, the bell rings once and that’s it. I’m getting 25.3 volts out of the transformer. What am I missing…any suggestions?

Hello nice video. I installed my ring pro 2, it is getting power and working on my app but my mechanical chime does not work anymore. How can I troubleshoot that?
