WARNING==If you have to do this you also need to check or maybe replace the door button. What causes this is the button sticks and burns out the coil. If the button stick again it will burn out the rear coil. And then you will have to replace the door bell as as well as the button. I have seen sticking button burn out door bell more than a few times over the years. After I had this to happen I wired a turn signal flasher from a car into my system so if it every stuck again the bell would start going off like a car turn signal. Why did I do all of that you ask. Well I went into the hall and it was full of smoke. The door bell had be hung up for so long it was about to catch fire.

Thanks brother I was installing a doorbell camera and couldn’t get a chime. The DIY switch enabled the camera and chime to work as a wired unit. 👍🏽

OMG! This is EXACTLY what was wrong with my doorbell 2 weeks ago and the exact same fix I did to repair it. Gotta go remove that pad though - want the Ding-Dong back rather than just the Ding. Two snaps up to you!!!

Thank you! I thought I had to rewire the door bells themselves.
I rewatched this, and had no idea the screws changed the doorbell tone!! I have 2: one that stopped working first and one stopped later. Good thing I have an annoying barking dog!

what portion of this is the transformer if I need to replace? i cheked behind my chime and all i saw was the electrical box.

um... instead of switch and modify maybe actually tray to "Fix" it instead 🤔 did you even ohm out the other one? typically they just get sticky a lil iso cleanes up the rod. lol

Low voltage wiring so no problem. Ha ha ha ha ha !

Or just replace the transformer for 20$
