Tested mine today, startup used to take 1:50 from pressing the power button until it gets to the desktop, now it takes 11 seconds for that it's incredible.

you can't even buy a SATA ssd that goes faster 550 mb/second. No formatting required, they are ready to be cloned out of the box or windows can be installed directly to an unformatted drive. Also upgrading a drive is also a good time to install a larger one than the original. Knock out two upgrades at once. Minimum 500gb to 1tb because drives slow down as they fill up.

Sadly most 1st gen intel i3/5/7s laptops can only do 3gbps sata 3, and cannot max out the speeds set by the ssd manufacturer, cause the older motherboards only do 3gbps instead of 6gbps(max for sata3). Thats why he only got 200+ on read/write speeds.

I think your laptop SATA 2 port is half speed than SATA 3 is full speed. My PC 4Tb SSD max 563Mb/sec read & 532Mb/sec write with SATA 3.

Thats very sad ..your laptop MUST have a sata 2 port (3Gbps)...that is why speed is way less (almost half)...should have gone with much cheaper sata ssd
