Worse even if you close the File Explorer, the 1 GB still is used and you need to restart Windows 11 to reclaim the lost RAM

I’m getting to feel this was rushed to market before it was fully tested

So here we are nearing April of 2022, and this bug still has not been fixed yet. In fact, it has gotten even worse, spreading to areas like the start menu, task view, night light, control and notification centers, pretty much anything that relies on explorer.exe. This is absolutely serious (mind you I have 16GB RAM and I still have to restart my computer in some cases every few hours just to fix this problem) and should not wait for the 2022 update. PEOPLE CAN'T WAIT! Microsoft, what are you guys thinking? Windows is becoming more and more unusable every single day! And why are we going back to force installing a completely different OS on someone's personal computer without their permission? Didn't you guys learn your lesson in 2016? This is ridiculous!

For the developers,
If you find a way to fix this, please provide said fix for Win11 ASAP! Windows Explorer is one of the most critical components of Windows and if this isn't fixed soon millions of computer users will go to rage mode, even those with very powerful hardware!

I tried to roll back to Windows 10, but I couldn't. It would not let me, it was grayed out. I went to C:\ and noticed Windows.old was not there. Microsoft screwed up big time and this operating system will be remembered as the next essence of Vista! This is unacceptable!

Gee, I was worried that this could be a problem with my PC. In a way, I'm relieved that it's just the usual Windows bugs.

This problem is known? And, it has a solution? I have been trying to fix it (unsuccessfully) and reaching out to HP for almost 2 weeks now. I am being advised to do a list of tests and workarounds that I have already completed... But my memory still goes up to 94%-99%, CPU 75%-100%, and GPU varies, but still a problem. I uninstalled just about EVERYTHING, including Google Chrome, but now even running Edge is a problem. I feel like I have an Altair 8800 in 2022....

I have a similar problem on an old laptop, except that even if you restart you don't get the RAM back, I eventually decided to not use that laptop until I knew how to fix it, since it would just get worse.

What I have found is that when I right click in folders, sometimes explorer will close and open again (restart itself). I haven't checked if it is also a memory issue. I have 16gb ddr4 at 2666mhz. Another issue I've found is pressing ctrl + shift + 5 to display list view sometimes doesn't work. Hoping for a fix soon

With Microsoft notoriously known for their buggy Patch Tuesday updates, I will rather wait for the 4 1/2 years of a rather mature Windows 10 than download and install Windows 11.

I saw something today in my windows 11 that i'd never seen in windows 10, i was just opening a tab in Vivaldi and i got a pop up message that i was out of memory and the browser crashed. This is on a system with 16gb of ram and i wasn't doing anything out of the ordinary so not sure if it was a vivaldi or windows bug.

Yes indeed !. Issues are abound. I am on day 3 with Windows 11. When I open a folder in file explorer, for example the Download folder, it takes 5 to 10 seconds to display its full content. I have opened some third party programs where their relevant dialogue boxes do not display round corners. My example is the Astro Command Centre, for my AstroA50 third gen headphones. Also my issue with blurry text in most sub menus. You will find this in Reddit as a post. Just Google, “ blurry text in Windows 11 “. Yes certain letters of the Alphabet, I, R, K, B etc all have a blurry look. Of course Nvidia suggests everyone with one of their GPU’s should download driver version 472.12. Advertising it as some sort of Windows 11 panacea that will make Windows 11 perform better, hmmm nope ! not in my opinion. New Nvidia drivers will not fix any of the current Windows 11 bugs !. So this memory leak is awful. Let’s hope Redmond and co get of their butts and start to issue patches and updates soon !!. Ok as I enjoy your channel I will continue to comment here with more of my findings regarding my experience with Windows 11. Thank you.

0:18 Old habits die hard. I think your muscle memory just wanted to open Task Manager by right clicking the Task Bar :-)

BTW In the Task Manager File Explorer is still called Windows Explorer.
