If you have a proper corrupt profile, as I did for someone who had completely filled the system disk, you can just create a new profile and copy everything across from the old one. I only copied the folders I needed, whether copying everything (all the AppData etc) would have effectively imported a corrupted profile to the new one I don't know didn't have the time to try it.
