Should be renamed "Bosch unboxing". Shows nothing about Akebono.

They perform amazing. They have over 50, 000 miles and they still have about 6mm of pad on them. Paired them up with the coated Bosch Quietcast Premium rotors which now have a super smooth glass-like finish on them. My 2006 Matrix stops on a dime with zero brake noise.

Speaking from experience, Bosch pads offered my preferred brake progression and maximum stopping power. But they usually lasted 20K miles. Akibono pads def last longer but didnt always wear evenly because of their hardness and took a while before they offered max brake performance. I'm referring to strictly ceramics for both, in daily drive configuration.

My go-to for every vehicle I have ever owned (and I've personally owned over 300 vehicles) is Akebono Pads with Bosch Quietcast coated rotors. Low dust, no noise, great stopping power and they last a very long time. And the coated rotors look great as well! Best of all worlds IMHO! I've tried several other brands over the years but they all seem to have issues.

I agree I love anything Bosch, but I feel you just gave your review on the packaging of said brake pad but no comparison to Akebono.

This is just a personal preference favorite brand video like I've heard about just about every other boutique brake brand. Amazon is full of counterfeit fakes on popular brands.

I installed the Bosch bc1451 rear brake pads. I installed them 3 days ago and they have been producing so much brake dust. I'm not sure why this is the case, but I thought ceramic brake pads were suppose to produce less dust not more.

I can’t use Bosch anymore lol. On my Sierra Denali, they kept on squealing and I replaced them twice until I went with Akebonos. Surprised me

99.9% of Brake Pads “do the job” for soccer moms. How are these better? You give no mileage specs, no brake distance comparisons, no heat range specs, rotor wear comparison etc. They come with hardware and grease 😱….so do all the other premium pads, including Akebono. You might be right, and you might be wrong, you gave us no facts to be able to tell which it is.

I just put Akebono pads all the way round on my 2001 BMW 330xi with new Zimmerman rotors. Now that I have 350 miles on the pads (I've been easy on them to get everything nicely broken in), I can't imaging pads that are "better" for my style of driving. They have very smooth and linear progression based on pedal pressure and don't have an overly aggressive initial bite. In any case stick to the brands that treat you well and suit your driving style. I'm using Bosch DOT 3/4/5.1 brake fluid with the high boiling point of 5.1 which gives you a bigger safety net when the brakes get used hard. I'm a big fan of Bosch for electronics such as O2 sensors and throttle bodies.

Akebono made in USA and Japan..
Bosch made in Mexico.. hmmm 🤔.. think that's why akebono is way better than Bosch.

what is the difference between Bosch blue and quietcast brake pads?

I have used them both. I had better luck with Akebono. They last longer and have better stopping than the Bosch. Now that is my opinion.

In my personal experience Akebono pads are great they have the regular series and the Performance Series. What ones are u referring too? Also they offer two options brake pads only and hardware included and grease. I purchased the option with the hardware and it included the grease.

I've asked different car mechanics in my area. 2 of them told me they'll install Bosch disc brakes and pads. Another one said "Ate". As a ordinary consumer, I have no idea what to choose from, but ... I guess Bosch is a pretty good choice then for ordinary car use.

I tend to wash my car approx every 14th day, so the problem with brake dust will not build up, I guess.

Doing my own brakes for the first time and opted to get Bosch Quietcast pads and new Bosch rotors for fronts and rears. Looking forward to getting them installed!
